United Airlines’ frequent flyers win free business class tickets during Star Alliance 15th anniversary competition
Five Mileage Plus members of United Airlines frequent flyer program recently won Star Alliance’s 15th anniversary competition. These winners are non-US residents, who find United Airlines’ loyalty program attractive.
The Star Alliance 15th anniversary competition was held from May 14 to June 14, 2012. The participants found it simple to attend the competition as it didn’t require any travel. The participants were required to guess the location of the virtual mystery plane, which was hidden somewhere on the Star Alliance network. A total of 17 persons won one of the prizes each that was on offer.
A participant from Argentina won the top prize – a trip of a lifetime for himself and 14 friends – to the Oktoberfest in Munich. The prize included return business class tickets for 15 people, VIP tickets for the Oktoberfest, dinner at one of Munich’s finest Michelin star restaurants for the whole group, and five star accommodation for five nights.
A participant from Taiwan bagged the runner-up prize and chose to travel to the World of Wearable Art Show in New Zealand. The winner and a travel companion received free Star Alliance Round the World Business Class Tickets for two.
Apart from the top prize winner and runner-up, 15 other winners, including five Mileage Plus members of United Airlines frequent flyer program, also won free return business class tickets for two by Star Alliance member carriers and would be able to enjoy one of the 27 festivals worldwide.
