Virgin Australia business lounge at Gold Coast Airport unveiled
Virgin Australia recently announced the opening of its business lounge at Gold Coast Airport. The airline opened the lounge after several years of controversially pulling out of the Gold Coast and discontinued operating its business class flights out of the airport.
The decision of the airline to stop operating business class flights out of the Gold Coast Airport had then faced stiff opposition from the local business community, who feared that Gold Coast would be seen as a low-budget destination.
However, after several years now Virgin Australia has again decided to allow its customers to book business class seats from Gold Coast with the re-launching of business flights and opening a business lounge from Gold Coast Airport.
The airline in a statement said that the number of business travelers to and from Gold Coast was increasing raising hopes and making the airline confident that the lounge here would be sustainable.
According to Virgin Australia, more than 2 million passengers are being carried annually through Gold Coast Airport on 20 daily flights, many of them being business travelers.
