Virgin Australia to introduce business class on Cairns and Newcastle flights from Brisbane

Leading Australian carrier Virgin Australia recently announced it is upgrading Brisbane flights to Cairns and Newcastle and will introduce business class cabins on these routes.

The airline disclosed that larger aircrafts like Boeing 737 and Embraer E190 are being introduced on Cairns and Newcastle routes respectively. The business class flights on the two routes will be operated from Brisbane.

Virgin Australia in a statement said that the passengers will be offered new business class seats on Brisbane-Cairns route. The airline is deploying a Boeing 737-800 aircraft to conduct flights on this route.

The airline will also be offering the customers opportunity to book business class tickets on Brisbane-Newcastle route. The airline has decided to upgrade the route and provide business class cabins on the newly-introduced Embraer E190 aircraft.

The airline stated that flights on Brisbane-Rockhampton and Brisbane-Proserpine routes are also being upgraded. The airline will deploy Embraer E190 aircraft on Brisbane-Rockhampton route, while a Boeing 737-700 aircraft will be used to operate flight on Brisbane-Proserpine route. However, there will be no business class cabins on both these routes.

The airline is upgrading flights on all these four routes after temporarily replacing Alliance Airlines Fokker 100 jets.
