Aer Lingus carries 23,000 more passengers this May

Passengers booking Aer Lingus flights tickets in May this year have been on upward trend.

Aer Lingus recently announced its passenger traffic results for the month of May 2012. The airline revealed its latest traffic statistics and said that Aer Lingus flights have put up a strong showing this May.

The airline said in a statement that it carrier 23,000 more passengers in May this year as compared to the same month in 2011.

The airline attributed the main factor to be an increase of 22,000 in passenger numbers for the Aer Lingus regional service. The routes which showed an increase in passengers include Waterford to Manchester and Dublin to the Isle Of Man. These routes were earlier operated by Aer Arann, but are now being operated by Aer Lingus following an agreement with Aer Arann.

The airline informed that the passenger load factor increased by 2.9 points on May 2011 to 76.2 percent.

Aer Lingus said that the total number of passengers flown in May 2012 was 882,000, an increase of 0.1 percent as compared to May 2011.
