Aer Lingus overall passenger traffic increases in October

European carrier Aer Lingus recently announced its operational results for the month of October this year and was quite elated at the positive outcome.

The airline in a statement said that the sale of Aer Lingus flights tickets was strong in October 2012. The airline disclosed that its overall passenger traffic increased during the month.

According to Aer Lingus, its revenue earnings on long haul routes and regional flights grew y-o-y. The airline stated that a total of 962,000 customers booked Aer Lingus flights as well as on the airline’s subsidiary Aer Lingus Regional in October this year, up 0.9 percent as compared to the same month in 2011.

The airline revealed that the there was a significant boost in the number of long haul passengers booking tickets during the month. The airline stated that the long haul bookings increased by 10.3 percent to 86,000. However, there was a slight increase in the number of short haul passengers, up 0.1 percent to 876,000.
