Aeromexico codeshare agreement with Avianca becomes operational

Mexico’s national carrier Aeromexico recently announced that the first phase of its codeshare agreement with Avianca has now become operational.

The airline said in a statement that passengers taking Aeromexico flights from Mexico City to Bogota will now be able to conveniently connect with Avianca to Bucaramanga, Armenia, Cartagena, Pereira, Barranquilla, Cali and Medellin.

On the other hand, passengers taking Avianca flights to Mexico City will be able to connect with Aeromexico to Villahermosa, Tijuana, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Veracruz, Leon, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco and Merida.

The codeshare agreement also allows passengers to buy tickets between Mexico City and Bogota through either Aeromexico or Avianca. Whether booking Aeromexico flights tickets or through Avianca, the passengers can travel on either of the airline’s route network on a single ticket.

Travelers on any of the two carriers will also get opportunity in the coming months to redeem Aeromexico Club Premier Points and Avianca LifeMiles on routes operated by both the carriers, apart from several other benefits.
