Aeromexico to begin flights between Mexico City and Atlanta from July 1

Mexico’s national carrier Aeromexico recently announced it will launch its flights services between Mexico City and Atlanta starting from July 1, 2012.

Aeromexico flights between Mexico City and Washington DC were also recently launched by the airline starting May 21, 2012. The airline is operating flights between Mexico City’s Benito Juarez International Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport in northern Virginia once daily.

The airline in a statement said that it will deploy a 100-seat Embraer E190 operated by sister company Aeromexico Connect to serve Atlanta. The airline is operating flights on Mexico City-Washington route with the help of a Boeing 737-700 aircraft configured for 12 seats in business class and 118 in economy class.

Apart from these new destinations, Aeromexico is also likely to add a fifth daily flight to Cancun from New York JFK International Airport in July this year.

Aeromexico currently has 43 percent market share for flights in Mexico and 21 percent for international flights.

Aeromexico will be acquiring seven Boeing 787 Dreamliners in the summer of next year and will be serving destinations in Europe, Asia and South America.
