Air Canada and South African Airways sign codeshare pact

Air Canada recently announced it has signed codeshare agreement with South African Airways. The codeshare pact between the two carriers is aimed at providing seamless and easier air connectivity to the customers traveling between South Africa and Canada.

The airline in a statement said that customers would be able to book Air Canada flights tickets as well as those on South African Airways flights effective from December 13, 2012 when the codeshare pact is finally implemented.

The codeshare agreement would enable the customers to book a single itinerary and make seamless connections when connecting between the two carriers in New York or London.

Both Air Canada and South African Airways are presently members of world’s leading global airline alliance Star Alliance. By virtue of being members of Star Alliance the customers would also greatly benefit from reciprocal frequent flyer redemption or accumulation when booking flights on either of the carriers, apart from having lounge access.
