Air Canada to receive seven Dreamliners in 2014

Air Canada recently announced that it will receive 7 out of 37 Boeing 787 Dreamliners in 2014. The airline disclosed that its first Dreamliner will arrive in the first quarter of 2014, followed by six more aircrafts in the same year.

Ben Smith, Chief Commercial Officer of Air Canada, said that after receiving the Dreamliner in 2014 Air Canada flights will be launched from its largest domestic hubs of Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal.

Smith also said that by late 2014 or early 2015, Air Canada hopes to gradually roll out its Dreamliner service in four more Canadian cities of Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa and Halifax.

He further said that after acquiring the Dreamliners, Air Canada will be in a position to offer nonstop flights between major Canadian cities and popular foreign destinations. Besides, this also gives Air Canada to increase the frequency of flights on some existing international routes.

Among other prospective destinations where Air Canada plans to launch flights after acquiring Dreamliners includes cities in China, India, Russia and South America.
