Air France recently announced that it has started to use Marseille as a hub for its low-cost flights starting this October. The other rivals of Air France operating out of Marseille include Ryanair and easyjet.
The airline has now started providing flight services on 13 new routes out of Marseille, and is offering discounted airfares starting from US$69.75*.
Air France in a statement disclosed that out of 13 new routes, 10 are overseas destinations and 3 are domestic destinations. The routes include Athens, Prague, Bâle Mulhouse, Moscow, Biarritz, Beirut, Milan-Malpensa, Brest, Istanbul, Casablanca, Eidhoven, Düsseldorf and Copenhagen. The airline is also operating flight services to 17 other destinations out of Marseille.
Ryanair has strongly reacted to the decision of Air France to operate low-cost flights out of Marseille. The airline has also announced that it will be reopening 6 routes out of Marseille, which it had closed previous winter. The 6 routes to be reopened by Ryanair includes Nantes, Rome, Brest, Marrakech, Eindhoven and Lille.
