Alitalia to launch direct flights between Georgia and Italy in July

Italy’s leading carrier Alitalia recently announced it will be launching direct flights services between Italy and Georgia in July this year.

The airline in a statement said that Alitalia flights between Rome and Tbilisi will be launched from July 2, 2012. The direct flights between the two cities will be operated twice every week.

According to Alitalia, the arrival of flights to Rome from Tbilisi has been scheduled in such a way that it would be convenient for Georgian passengers to have the option to board multiple connecting flights to various domestic Italian destinations as well as international destinations on Alitalia’s network within a short span of time.

The airline will deploy Airbus A320 aircrafts on the new Tbilisi-Rome route. The aircraft on this route will be configured with two classes – Business Class (Ottima) and Economy Class (Classica).

Tbilisi to Rome

Departure: 5.00 am – Arrival: 7.15 am (local time) – Frequency: Tuesday and Sunday

Rome to Tbilisi

Departure: 10.10 pm – Arrival: 4.10 am (local time) – Frequency: Monday and Saturday
