Allegiant Air to expand network, add more routes

Allegiant Air, one of the most popular budget airlines within the United States announced its plans to expand service yet again. The airline that operates flights to various destinations across the country aims to widen its network albeit with a focus on the East Coast this time.

The airline that runs from its base in the vibrant Las Vegas said it would add another ten cities to its schedule. It is set to add two new routes in the New York metropolitan area. The airline is hugely popular with leisure travelers who book Allegiant Air tickets to fly to their respective destinations on low costs.

Some of the cities that will be covered under its new itinerary include Charlottesville, Clarksburg Concord, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Syracuse, and Manhattan.

At present, the carrier serves 99 cities with its popular twice-a-week offering to most cities. It is ahead of most low-cost carriers in terms of number of cities covered under its umbrella. The airline is growing and as a fact 7 million passengers used its services last year to reach their destinations.

The carrier was established in January 1997 as WestJet Expressed. It however, re-branded itself as Allegiant Air after it faced trademark disputes with other airlines with a similar name. It has since been serving the people of the country by offering an affordable mode of air travel.
