Arik Air purchases new aircraft to expand international fleet

West Africa and Central Africa’s largest airline Arik Air has announced its international fleet expansion. The airline has purchased a new Airbus A330-200 twin-engine aircraft to expand its international fleet.

The widebody Airbus A330-200 aircraft is the first of its kind to be included in the Arik Air fleet. With this new aircraft, the airline’s current fleet has now increased to 24 aircrafts. The airline also said that it has placed an order for a further 24 aircrafts.

Arik Air said that the newly introduced aircraft will service the airline’s bilateral air services agreement (BASA) long haul routes. These routes include those to London Heathrow Airport, New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Johannesburg’s Oliver Tambo International Airport.

Robert Brunner, Arik Air’s Vice President – America, said that the acquisition of a new Airbus A330-200 twin aircraft and inclusion in the airline’s fleet has helped the airline to expand further and enable the passengers to be offered an even more robust service.
