AviancaTaca Holding S.A. to operate flights under Avianca brand

AviancaTaca Holding S.A., the company owning Avianca and Taca Airlines, recently announced it will be operating its flights services under a single commercial brand Avianca.

The company after a business analysis and rigorous market research decided on a single commercial brand to operate Avianca flights.

The two Latin American companies Colombia-based Aerovías del Continente Americano S.A. Avianca and Costa Rica-based TACA Internacional Airlines S.A. have now merged to form a single company AviancaTaca Holding S.A.

Earlier, Aerovías del Continente Americano S.A. Avianca operated its flights under a separate Avianca brand, while Costa Rica-based TACA Internacional Airlines S.A. operated its flights under the name of Taca Airlines.

The integrated company AviancaTaca Holding S.A. has announced that the official launch of its single commercial brand under the name of Avianca will take place in 2013.

However, the two companies will continue to retain their legal name and add the trading name Avianca in their respective territory of incorporation.
