British Airways offers to rebook flights to U.S. East Coast for passengers hit by Hurricane Sandy

British Airways has been recently forced to cancel its flights to/from New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Boston due to Hurricane Sandy. The hurricane has severely battered the U.S. East Coast and other regions in the United States.

The airline in a statement said that the passengers are being offered to rebook British Airways flights due to travel to the U.S. East Coast on October 29, 30 and 31.

The airline issued a statement on its official website and said that it acknowledges the fact that the customers would be disappointed, but canceling flights was important as it considered to their safety to be a highest priority.

Another British carrier Virgin Atlantic Airways has also canceled all its flights to New York, Washington D.C. and Boston.

London’s Heathrow Airport has also issued a warning and advised the passengers taking flights to the United States to first of all check the status of their respective flights before travelling to the airport.
