Whether you are taking British Airways flights or traveling by any other flight to London, you have a treat waiting for you at Heathrow Airport, if you are willing to splurge.
London’s Heathrow Airport has now decided to extend its VIP service, which was previously reserved for royalty and heads of states, to premium travelers who don’t mind spending a good amount out of their pockets.
The VIP service, known as “Heathrow by Invitation”, offers both arriving and departing guests a discreet and seamless way to get through all the airport procedures.
The premium travelers seeking the VIP service are greeted at their aircraft upon their arrival and chauffeur-driven to a VIP lounge, bypassing the main terminals, where passport and customs checks and baggage retrieval are taken care of, alongside some light refreshments.
For premium travelers departing from Heathrow, they will be arriving at the airport through a dedicated private entrance where staff will guide them to a private lounge for check-in, security and immigration procedures. After the formalities are completed, the passengers will then be chauffeur-driven to their aircraft when it is time to board.
The VIP services are also available to passengers catching connecting flights at Heathrow.
The passengers utilizing the “Heathrow by Invitation” service can also use the dedicated private lounges for conferences or meetings of up to three hours. The passengers can also invite up to six people with them, including non-passengers.
According to the airport officials, the VIP service can be reserved up to 24 hours before departure or arrival. The cost of the VIP service is $2,389 per journey (arrival, departure or connecting) for up to six passengers, inclusive of all the services.
A similar service is already being offered by Lufthansa for its first class passengers and top tier frequent flyers with a dedicated terminal at Frankfurt Airport.
