Caribbean Airlines seeking to refurbish its image

Caribbean Airlines has decided to give its image a makeover. The airline, which took over Air Jamaica, now desperately wants to win back its past travelers as well. A spokesperson of Caribbean Airlines said that after acquiring Air Jamaica the airline acknowledges its lack of communication and admits to missteps. The airline now wants to mend the relationships and win over former Air Jamaica travelers prompting them once again to fly with it.

Trinidad and Tobago’s national carrier Caribbean Airlines recently flew several of erstwhile Air Jamaica’s executives to Fort Lauderdale in South Florida signaling the public that it is on course to refurbish its image. As already stated, the airline acquired Jamaica’s national carrier Air Jamaica and all its routes.

Fort Lauderdale is presently one of the major routes and continues to be a wider leisure market for Caribbean Airlines. Most Jamaicans take Fort Lauderdale route to fly back home from the United States.

The need for an image makeover by Caribbean Airlines arose after Air Jamaica was acquired and the airline repositioned its brand. Jamaican customers were not satisfied with the service provided by Caribbean Airlines, which they earlier used to get when flying with Air Jamaica in its heyday. Apart from its poor service to Jamaican customers, there were also complaints about the loss of frequent flyer benefits provided by erstwhile Air Jamaica.

Caribbean Airlines belatedly sensed the gravity of the situation and has now started its outreach efforts in a big way to its Jamaican customers. Some past Air Jamaica customers are still adamant and decided not to fly with Caribbean Airlines ever again. However, the airline is happy with its efforts as many past Air Jamaica flyers have started to fly with it. The airline now wants to put its past behind and sees a bright future ahead.
