China Airlines announced that it has added 3 more Asian destinations to the SkyTeam’s network. The airline had recently been made official member of the world’s second-largest alliance SkyTeam.
China Airlines, which joined SkyTeam on September 28, 2011 becoming the 15th airline to join the alliance, disclosed that Surabaya in Indonesia and Okinawa and Miyazaki in Japan are the three new destinations in Asia to be included in SkyTeam’s network.
Besides Surabaya, China Airlines also operates flights to Jakarta and Bali in Indonesia. The airline operates flights to Taipei from Jakarta 14 times per week, 7 flights from Surabaya every week and 11 flights from Bali per week.
China Airlines operates from its hub in Taipei. The airline operates 224 daily flights to over 80 destinations across the world.
Besides China Airlines, the other members of SkyTeam includes Vietnam Airlines, Aeromexico, TAROM, Air Europa, Korean Air, Air France, KLM, China Eastern, Kenya Airways, China Southern, Delta Air Lines and Czech Airlines. Other airlines scheduled to join SkyTeam next year includes Garuda Indonesia, Middle East Airlines, Saudi Arabian Airlines and Aerolineas Argentinas.
