China Airlines implementing fleet renewal plan with more Boeings

Taiwan’s national flag carrier China Airlines recently announced it will be implementing its fleet renewal plan soon.

The company in a statement said that it wants to expand China Airlines flights on other international routes and also increase its capacity.
The Taipei-based carrier has decided to purchase six Boeing 777-300ER aircrafts and placed orders with the aircraft maker Boeing Co.

China Airlines said that its decision to buy more Boeing aircrafts is part of its fleet renewal plan to cater to the ever-increasing market demand.

The airline had earlier wanted to place orders for at least 10 Boeing 777-300ER aircrafts, but only six aircrafts were approved for purchase by the company’s board of directors. The airline has now indicated that it will be placing orders for more aircrafts in the coming days.

China Airlines spokesman Hamilton Liu said that the six Boeing 777-300ER aircrafts already ordered and due to be delivered to the company starting 2014. He said that the company had for long been planning to replace the fleet with new aircrafts.
