China Airlines mulling regional partnership with SkyTeam-affiliated Chinese carriers

China Airlines flights are on the verge of expansion as the airline is actively considering regional partnership with leading Chinese carriers.
Taiwan’s national flag carrier China Airlines recently indicated it is mulling to enter into regional alliance with various Chinese carriers that are part of SkyTeam alliance.

Sun Hung-hsiang, President of China Airlines, said that by forming regional partnership the airline aims at providing more incentives to business travelers. The regional alliance is likely to be formed later this year.

Chinese carriers, which are part of global SkyTeam alliance, include China Southern Airlines and China Eastern Airlines. However, the membership of Xiamen Airlines is pending with SkyTeam alliance. All the three carriers are based in China.

The partnership being formed under the brand name of SkyTeam would provide easier and convenient access to business travelers to flight network across the Taiwan Strait. Passengers could also take the advantage of mileage benefits, in addition to flexible flight arrangements.
