China Airlines to operate direct Taipei-Seoul flights

Taiwan’s Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) recently gave its approval to China Airlines to operate direct flights between Taipei International Airport and Seoul’s Gimpo Airport.

The CAA has said that it will currently allow only two direct flights every day to operate between Taipei and Seoul.

According to the bilateral agreement between Taiwan and South Korea, EVA Airways and China Airlines flights will be operated nonstop and totaling seven times every week.

The CAA further said that it is expected to review the bilateral aviation agreement between Taiwan and South Korea in the second half of this year, following which more direct flights, as well as a third local carrier, might be added to the route.

The CAA, however, stressed that until relevant regulations are amended only two direct flights per day will be allowed to operate presently between Taiwan’s Taipei International Airport and Seoul’s Gimpo Airport.
