China Southern Airlines to operate Airbus A380 service on Beijing-Paris route

Leading Chinese carrier China Southern Airlines recently announced it would be operating flights services between Beijing and Paris with the help of Airbus A380 aircraft.

 The airline in a statement said that China Southern Airlines flights on Beijing-Paris route would be jointly operated along with the Chinese national flag carrier Air China using Airbus A380 aircraft from October onwards.

Media reports said that the two Chinese carriers – China southern Airlines and Air China – would get into codeshare partnership to operate daily flights on Beijing-Paris route, which is being presently served by Air China with the help of a Boeing 777 aircraft.

China Southern Airlines indicated that it has already received three Airbus A380 aircrafts and included them in its fleet ever since October 2011. The airline further stated that it is ready to acquire two more Airbus A380 aircrafts, which are scheduled to be delivered later this year and in 2013 respectively. 

So far, China Southern Airlines had been operating the Airbus A380 aircrafts on short routes, including Beijing-Shanghai, Guangzhou-Beijing and Beijing-Hong Kong. These routes have proved to be uneconomical at present.
