Finnair and Malaysia Airlines sign codeshare agreement

Finland’s national flag carrier Finnair recently announced it has entered into codeshare agreement with Malaysia’s national flag carrier Malaysia Airlines. The codeshare pact is aimed at increasing access to the hubs of two carriers in Helsinki and Kuala Lumpur.

Finnair flights operate out of its hub in Helsinki, while Malaysia Airlines operate its flights out of its hub in Kuala Lumpur.

Finnair in a statement said that it will be able to place its flight code on selected Malaysia Airlines services being operated from Kuala Lumpur to Hong Kong, Bangkok and Singapore.

Similarly, Malaysia Airlines will also be able to put its flight code on selected Finnair services that are operated from Helsinki to Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Paris and London.

Finnair’s Vice President - Commercial Partnerships Hannu Sundberg said that the airline’s customers traveling to Southeast Asia would get opportunity to conveniently connect to the Malaysian capital city Kuala Lumpur as well.
