North Sea Jazz Festival – Biggest annual event in Amsterdam

Amsterdam is all set to host the North Sea Jazz Festival in July this year. The event will be held from July 11 to 13, 2014. The 3-day event is ready to enthrall the jazz enthusiasts who would once again be reaching Amsterdam from around the world like every year. World-class jazz music players have been returning to Amsterdam year after year to regale the Dutch who are passionate about jazz, world and blues music.

The North Sea Jazz Festival 2014 will be held in Rotterdam. More than 1,000 musicians are expected to participate in the event this year. Over 150 performances would be held and 13 different stages have been put up to mesmerize the audience. In the past years, the festival had seen nearly 70,000 visitors attending it. This year the number of visitors from across the world is expected to increase even more.

The North Sea Jazz Festival was first held in 1976. The venue of the first edition was in the Nederlands Congresgebouw in The Hague. Ever since the festival has only grown and evolved into a biggest event to be held in Amsterdam. Renowned jazz legends have already staged their performances. Some of the legendary jazz musicians to have graced the event include Stan Getz, Dizzy Gillespie, Count Basie and Sarah Vaughan.
