With a population of about 17 million, Los Angeles or L.A. is the most densely populated city of California. Mountains, forests, valleys, beaches and deserts, surround this city. It is the world’s media and entertainment center and also has considerable impact on the culture, trade and business of the world. It offers a spectacular bird’s eye view of the city and the Pacific Ocean. Other famous museums include Museum of Contemporary Art (with rotating exhibits), Los Angeles County Museum of Art, etc. The Page Museum has a unique collection of paleontological excavations including animals like, giant sloth, bison, wolves, the saber tooth cats, the American lion, horses, camels, etc.

Griffith Park is a fantastic place to hang around with kids, family and friends. It has many attractions for children such as the L.A. Zoo, Aunty Western Museum, horseback riding, a space observatory, etc. There is also something called the Travel Town which is a free exhibition of old trains. It offers train rides in a model train for kids.

Shopping and Eating in the City 
There are malls all around the city to spend money on shopping, eating and drinking for someone who has been economical with the flight tickets. The Hollywood and Highland mall, The Grove, The Beverly Center, are a few of the popular ones with the tourists.

Larchmont Blvd is one of the most popular shopping streets and draws many tourists to its unique boutiques and shops. The Broadway offers cheap and affordable options in clothing. It is also a well-known place for pirated CDs and DVDs.
