Italy’s second largest municipality, Milan is the capital of Lombardy. It’s surrounded by growing satellites and suburbs, which have consistently increased the city’s population, making it the most densely populated region in Europe.

Milan’s traditional festivities ensue at the city churches; the biggest being Duomo. On the other hand, commercial events are organized on the outer parts of the city, in Rho. Flights to Milan have three airports to choose their landing from; cheap flights to Milan stop at Bergamo, airlines landing near the city center stop their engines at the Lineata Airport and the Malpensa is the newest airport amongst the three.

The music genre of jazz holds high fan-following in Italy and neighboring countries, so the Jazz Festival brings cheer to the much-awaiting crowd in Milan. Somewhat similar to Santa Claus, Milan has its own religious belief, for the witch La Befena, who is believed to give blessings and gifts to children who are well-mannered and gives coal to the naughty ones. Prayers are carried out of The Three Wise Men in the morning.

The number of events bends more towards the cultural side of the country, giving an opening to the richness of Milan. Though a fact to keep in mind is, the city tourist destinations are closed on Monday.
