The trains steam from King Street Station, south of downtown close to Safeco Field. The Coast Starlight service is offered between Los Angeles and Seattle and another called The Cascades service joins the city to Vancouver, British Columbia and Eugene-Springfield, Oregon.

The ferry services are also not uncommon. The Washington State Ferries and Victoria Clipper connect the city to Vashon Island, Bainbridge Island and Bremerton, Victoria and San Juan Islands.
