Frontier Airlines to charge higher fees for booking off-site

The customers will have to pay more for booking Frontier Airlines flights tickets whenever they purchase their tickets through 3rd party websites.

The airline is taking this move after prolonged battle between various carriers and online travel agencies over controlling how amenities and flight options are displayed as well as the cost to airlines for selling through those channels.

The airline said that when the customers book Frontier Airlines flights directly through it they will stand to benefit and make savings on the tickets.

According to the Frontier Airlines, the customers will have to pay more when booking through a 3rd party website. The airline stated that the customers will be able to earn only 50 percent credit towards the EarlyReturns frequent flyer program when booking the tickets elsewhere.

Apart from this, the customers will also have to pay a $50 premium on fees for itinerary and flight changes, bringing pets on board, and standby travel, among others. The customers will also not be able to assign seats on their flights until they check-in when not booking directly on Frontier Airlines’ website.
