Frontier Airlines to stop flights on Denver-Sacramento route early next year

Leading U.S. low cost carrier Frontier Airlines recently announced it will be stopping its flight operations at Sacramento in 2013.
 
The airline in a statement said that Frontier Airlines flights will no longer operate between Denver and Sacramento.
 
The airline stated that it flights between Denver International Airport and Sacramento International Airport will stop operations early next year.

A Frontier Airlines spokesman said that the decision of the airline is based on the overall performance of the route. The airline is not pleased with its performance on Denver-Sacramento route and has decided not to continue with the operations here.

The airline said that the performance of flights between Denver and Sacramento has been quite dismal as compared to the flights on the rest of Frontier Airlines’ network.

Sacramento airport officials have, however, said that the loss of Frontier Airlines won’t be a big blow for the airport as the airline is the ninth busiest carrier and the airport and only accounts for nearly 3 percent of its traffic.
