Iberia Airlines to launch Madrid-Accra flights from July 17

Spanish carrier Iberia Airlines recently announced it will be launching its flights services to Ghana in the month of July this year.

The airline in a statement said that Iberia Airlines flights between the Spanish capital Madrid and Ghana’s capital Accra will start operations from July 17, 2012. This will be the airline’s first ever flight into Ghana.

Iberia Airlines, which merged with British Airways in 2011, said that it will be launching an extensive advertising campaign to aggressively promote the new flights between the capital cities of the two countries.

Iberia Airlines’ business module is slightly different from its parent carrier British Airways. The airline primarily aims at targeting customers wanting to travel to Spain and then onto Europe.

Iberia Airlines and British Airways concluded merger talks last year, and both the companies have now formed one entity called International Airlines Group (IAG). However, both the carriers continue to operate flights as normal under their respective brands.
