Iberia Express joins oneworld as affiliate member

Iberia Airlines recently announced its wholly-owned subsidiary Iberia Express will also be a part of the leading global airline alliance oneworld.

The newly-launched short and medium haul airline Iberia Express has started its flight operations.

Iberia Airlines flights are also being operated in partnership with other oneworld members.

Iberia Express will be operating its short and medium haul flights connecting to and from mainline Iberia’s long haul network at their shared Madrid hub.

The airline said in a statement that Iberia Express will be offering two classes – Business and Economy – on all its flights. It will also be providing the full range of oneworld services and benefits.

Initially, Iberia Express will start its operations with four Airbus A320s. By the end of this year it plans to expand its fleet with a total of 13 aircrafts.

Iberia Express will be announcing its destinations and schedule soon.

Iberia Airlines revealed that all Iberia Express flights will be operating with its IB prefix.

Iberia Airlines became a full member of oneworld in 1999.
