Iberia Airlines has decided to expand its service to Colombia with the launch of additional flights in the months of August and September this year. The airline said that it will enhance capacity on its Madrid-Bogota route further during the summer season.
The airline in a statement said that it will provide two additional flights on Madrid-Bogota route every week starting from August 9, 2014. The capacity on this route will be further expanded in September as well with the launch of three new flights every week. The airline will thus be operating a total of 10 flights between Madrid and Bogota this year.
Providing details about the new flight schedule, Iberia Airlines said that the new flights in August will be operated every Saturday and Sunday. The flight will depart from Madrid at 16:30 and arrive in Bogota at 19:55. The return flight will depart from Bogota at 23:35 and arrive in Madrid at 16:40 next day. The three additional flights to be launched in September will serve Madrid-Bogota route thrice weekly on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Iberia Airlines has recently entered into codeshare agreement with Lan Colombia. The new arrangement between the two airlines will provide Iberia passengers seamless connectivity to various Colombian cities including Santa Marta, Pereira, Medellín, Cartagena de Indias, Cali, Bucaramanga and Barranquilla.
Apart from major cities in Colombia, Iberia Airlines is presently serving 37 destinations in Europe as well as 11 destinations in the Middle East and Africa. The cities in Europe being provided flights services include Zurich, Rome, Paris, Munich, Milan, London, Geneva, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Brussels and Berlin.
