Jet Airways strategic alliance with Lufthansa approved

Jet Airways recently announced that the Indian civil aviation ministry has finally approved its strategic alliance with Germany’s national flag carrier Lufthansa.

The airline in a statement said that the strategic alliance between the two carriers will enable them to sell seats across each other’s networks.

The airline stated that it had sought approval from the Indian civil aviation authorities to allow it to cover the entire network of Lufthansa in North America, Europe as well other international routes.

The strategic alliance has come as a boon as the airline will be able to book seats on Lufthansa network to several international destinations. Similarly, Lufthansa will also be able to take benefit of this strategic alliance and will be able to book seats on Jet Airways flights on its domestic network.

The approval for codeshare pact between Jet Airways and Lufthansa is also being seen as a significant step towards Jet Airways joining the world’s largest airline network Star Alliance in future.
