Jet Airways to suspend flights to New York JFK from September 10

India’s leading private carrier Jet Airways recently announced it will be suspending its flights services to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) from September 10, 2012.

The loss-making Indian carrier, however, said that Jet Airways flights tickets will be continued to be sold for flights to Newark International Airport.

The airline in a statement disclosed that it had suffered losses in the first quarter of this year ended March 31.
 
Jet Airways has stated it will now be undertaking its network evaluation and will be focusing more on profitability. The airline said that it has decided to redeploy its assets on its existing route network.

According to the airline, the losses had forced it to temporarily suspend its Brussels-New York JFK flights from September 10 this year. The airline, however, said that it would continue to operate flights uninterrupted to its two important North American gateways in Newark and Toronto. The airline’s Delhi-Brussels-Toronto and Mumbai-Brussels-Newark routes will remain operational.
