JetBlue Airways November traffic up 10.9 percent

JetBlue Airways recently announced its operational results for November 2011 and sounded upbeat. The airline expressed enthusiasm over its preliminary traffic results for the month of November this year and reported 10.9 percent increase y-o-y. The airline also reported a capacity increase of 7.7 percent.

According to the operational results, the airline reported an increase of 2.4 points in its load factor to 83.3 percent as compared to the same month in 2010. The preliminary completion factor was 99.9 percent, while the airline’s on-time performance was 85.8 percent.

The results further indicated that JetBlue Airway’s preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) increased 15 percent y-o-y. However, the airline expects PRASM to increase between 11 and 13 percent y-o-y in Q4.

New York’s Hometown airline JetBlue Airways operate out of its hubs in Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles and Orlando. The airline currently operates 700 daily flights serving 70 cities. JetBlue Airways is also planning to start flights to Dallas-Fort Worth in May 2012.
