KLM Royal Dutch Airlines planning to launch Amsterdam-Fukuoka flights from April 3

Leading Dutch carrier KLM Royal Dutch Airlines recently announced it is mulling to begin flights between the Netherlands and Japan from April next year.

The airline in a statement said that KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flights services between the southern Japanese city of Fukuoka and the Dutch capital Amsterdam is likely to be started from April 3, 2013. The airline will be operating the flights between the two cities thrice every week.

Media reports said that this would be the first direct flights service between the Japanese city and Europe since 1993.

The airline will be deploying a Boeing 777-200ER aircraft is configured with 318 seats in two classes – 35 seats in business class and 283 seats in economy class.

The airline had earlier this year launched nonstop flights between Amsterdam and Taipei, and operates the route with the help of a Boeing 777-200ER aircraft.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines said that the launch of new flight would boost trade relations between the Netherlands and Japan, as well as other European countries.
