LAN Airlines recently announced that it will be increasing its flight frequencies between Sydney and Santiago, from daily to ten per week. The airline said that three additional LAN Airlines flights will begin operating between the two destinations starting March 26, 2012. The new codeshare agreement will enable LAN Airlines and Qantas to offer seats on 10 flights per week to South America.
The flights will be operated through a new codeshare agreement with Qantas, a fellow oneworld alliance member. The passengers will be offered LAN Airlines flights tickets on Economy and Business Class on the new Sydney-Santiago nonstop flights. According to the airline, the flights will depart Sydney every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday morning. The return flight will be on every Saturday, Monday and Wednesday.
LAN Airline’s daily one-stop flights from Sydney to Santiago via Auckland connect to a network of over 80 destinations in South America.
LAN Airlines already operates daily one-stop service between Sydney and Santiago with Airbus A340-300 aircraft. Qantas will operate three flights with Boeing 747-400 aircraft.
