Lufthansa introduces new Boeing jumbo jet on Frankfurt-Washington route

Leading German carrier Lufthansa recently launched its new Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental Jumbo jet on Frankfurt-Washington route.

The airline in a statement said that Lufthansa flights on its newest flagship aircraft will initially be operated six days every week (excluding Tuesdays) between Frankfurt and Washington. In future, the capacity on this route will be increased by 6.3 percent.

According to Lufthansa, its new Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental aircraft holds 362 seats in a three-class configuration – 8 seats in First Class, 92 seats in Business Class and 262 seats in Economy Class.

The business class seats on the new Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental are arranged in the form of a “V”, with two neighboring seats angled towards one another along a central axis. This special layout allows the passengers to sit or lie facing the direction of travel, while having almost double the distance between the two seats at shoulder level. The business class seats are also converted into lie-flat bed.
