Philippine Airlines to launch direct flights between Manila and Toronto in November

Philippine Airlines recently announced it would be launching its direct flights between Manila and Toronto in November this year.

The airline in a statement recently said that Philippine Airlines flights from Manila to Toronto would begin operations effective November 30, 2012.

Ramon S. Ang, President of Philippine Airlines, said that the flights on the new route involve realigning the airline’s current flight entitlements as the present focus is exclusively on the Manila-Vancouver route. The airline would now be serving both Vancouver as well as Toronto.

Philippine Airlines is the only Filipino carrier currently operating flights between Canada and Philippines. At present, Canada hosts tens of thousands of overseas Filipino workers.

The Philippine government has granted Philippine Airlines to operate seven flights every week on the Manila-Vancouver route. The airline is now contemplating to operate three flights on the new Manila-Toronto route, while it will continue to operate the remaining four flights on the Manila-Vancouver route.
