Qantas Airways begins selling tickets to London via Dubai

Qantas Airways recently announced it will no longer be seeking interim authorization from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) for its proposed alliance with Middle East’s leading carrier Emirates Airline.

The airline in a statement said that it has already done a great deal of preparatory work for its partnership with Emirates Airline without interim approval from the competition regulator ACCC.

However, the deal between the two carriers is still being assessed by the competition regulator ACCC and it is likely to announce its final decision on the partnership by the end of March next year.

The partnership with Emirates Airline will help Qantas Airways flights to be operated under an extensive codeshare arrangement. Both the carriers through their formidable partnership would also be aiming for reciprocal frequent-flyer benefits as well as joint coordination, pricing and marketing strategies on selected routes.

According to the airline, Qantas Airways flights tickets are already up for sale for travel to London from Sydney and Melbourne with a stopover in Dubai, instead of Singapore. The first flights on the revised routes are expected begin operations from March 31, 2013.
