Qantas Airways voted out of World Airline Awards' top 10 for the first time

Qantas Airways flights have not been able to make a mark causing a sharp fall for the airline from the top 10 World Airline Awards rankings.

Media reports said that Qantas Airways has been voted out of the top 10 World Airline Awards rankings for the first time. The airline has plunged from Number 8 last year to Number 15 presently. Ever since 2008, the ranking of the airline has been continuously on the decline every year. In 2008, Qantas Airway’s ranking had peaked at Number 3.

According to media reports, the decline in this year’s ranking is because of industrial dispute taking place last year during which Qantas Airways’ entire fleet was grounded in October. The grounding of the fleet had severely affected Qantas Airways flights operations affecting Qantas Airways flights tickets bookings of nearly 68,000 passengers worldwide.

The airline’s rival Virgin Australia made great improvements surging up its rankings 20 places, from 32nd last year to 12th spot this year.
