Qatar Airways showcased its new Boeing 787 seats at the recently-held Arabian Travel Market event in Dubai.
The four-day event held from April 30 to May 3, 2012, is the region’s largest travel trade fair which attracted the crème de la crème of the travel industry from the Gulf, across the Middle East and around the world.
Qatar Airways participated for the first time in the Middle East event, and showcased its business and economy class Boeing 787 seats.
The airline in a statement said that the seat design on its Boeing 787s is revolutionary and proprietary to Qatar Airways, which worked closely with the manufacturer to have custom-made seats fitted on the aircraft, with space and comfort the biggest features of both cabins.
The airline has placed orders for 60 Boeing 787 aircrafts, which are scheduled for delivery this summer.
According to Qatar Airways, the Business Class is configured 1–2–1 featuring seats that convert into fully flat horizontal beds, while Economy Class has a 3–3–3 cabin layout.
Qatar Airways flights to 11 destinations are being launched this year as part of its expansion program. The destinations include Zagreb, Perth, Mombasa, Zanzibar, Helsinki, Gassim, Belgrade, Erbil, Baghdad, Kilimanjaro and Yangon.
