Singapore Airlines offers two world’s most prestigious champagnes

Airlines worldwide were earlier leaving no stone unturned in catering to their first class customers with vintage champagne and Michelin-star food only in the hope of earning big revenues from this highly profitable market.

The focus of late has turned to business class now. This highly competitive and immensely profitable sector has turned into a major battleground for different international carriers.

Media reports quoting an aviation expert said that the business class flyers have become quite demanding and therefore leading airlines are competing with each other aggressively to provide the best services and privileges to their respective premium customers.

The reports also said that in the airline food market Singapore Airlines has always stayed ahead in the race. The airline now boasts of being “the only company in the world to provide its business class customers with ‘Krug Grande Cuvee’ and ‘Dom Perignon’ champagnes considered to be the most prestigious in the globe”.

According to the report, Singapore Airlines has been spending nearly $21.72 million every year only on champagne and wines. The airline’s catering thus amounts to 5.5 percent of its total costs.

The reports further said that the airlines are also making extra efforts to provide exclusive offerings and stand out from the rest of the crowd. This is being remarkably displayed with the extravagant menus and exotic creations by top chefs hired by these airlines. This though comes with some challenges, but the airlines are ready to go the extra mile to make their business class flyers happier than ever.
