Skytrax rates Spirit Airlines as a 2-Star Airline

After assessing Spirit Airlines for a period of good 12weeks, Skytrax has given the airlines a 2-star ranking. As per this new assessment the airlines has downgraded from 3-Star Airline status to 2-Star Airline status.

Skytrax stated that Spirit Airlines over the period of time has show severe lacuna in terms of quality, which has in particularly led to this downfall.

The main criterion of the Skytrax Airline Star Ranking is service quality and product offered by any airlines. Skytrax further assesses any airlines as per the market niche in which it operates. In case of Spirit Airlines, which is a low-cost no-frill airline, Skytrax assessed it on how well Spirit Airlines delivered upon the promises it made to its customers.

Edward Plaisted of Skytrax stated that Skytrax understands that a low-cost carrier cannot be expected to meet the standards of a legacy carrier yet it needs to maintain service quality levels to meet the core rating criteria. And it was this that the airline was majorly lacking in.
