Swiss International Airlines to begin flights between Singapore and Zurich from May

Switzerland’s national flag carrier Swiss International Airlines, popularly known as SWISS, recently announced it will launch its flights services to Singapore from its main hub at Zurich next year.

The airline in a statement said that SWISS flights between Singapore and Zurich will be launched from May 12, 2013. The airline said that the launch of new route would be beneficial for Australian travelers.

According to SWISS, the Airbus A340-300 aircrafts would be deployed on Singapore-Zurich route to operate the flights.

Currently, Singapore Airlines is already operating flights on this route with the help of an Airbus A380 aircraft.

SWISS disclosed that it will be operating overnight evening flights to Zurich from Singapore. The airline said that the overnight evening flight would be ideal to connect to Singapore-bound day flights from Australia. This will also reduce the Singapore layover by nearly two hours as compared to the existing flight to Zurich by Singapore Airlines.
