Munich Airport is a major airport in Germany situated 28 km away to the northeast of Munich. It is a secondary hub of Germany’s flagship carrier Lufthansa as well as partner airlines of Star Alliance. It is also the second busiest airport in the country after Frankfurt. Most airlines operated flights from the older Terminal 1, which became operational in 1992. However, a new Terminal 2 was built in 2003 and airlines started conducting operations. This terminal is exclusively devoted to Lufthansa and members of Star Alliance.
