Air China introduces new international travel free baggage allowance guidelines

Air China has introduced new international travel free baggage allowance guidelines; effective from September 1, 2011. The airline on all its international flights will apply the baggage piece concept allowance.

According to Air China, passengers traveling on First Class or Business Class will be allowed to carry up to 2 pieces of baggage free of cost. However, each baggage should weigh not more than 32 kg or 70 lbs.

Economy Class passengers taking flights to/from Americas and Japan will be permitted to carry along with them up to 2 pieces of checked baggage for free. Each baggage should, however, weigh not more than 23 kg or 50 lbs.

Economy Class passengers, who are not taking flights to/from Americas and Japan, will be allowed to carry only one piece of checked baggage free of cost. The weight of the baggage should not be more than 23 kg or 50 lbs.

Meanwhile, in another development Air China has revised its fuel surcharges on routes to Republic of Korea effective from September 1, 2011. Passengers traveling to Chinese mainland areas (excluding Shandong Province) from Republic of Korea will now have to pay US$62 in fuel surcharge per flight segment. Those traveling to Shandong Province from Republic of Korea will have to pay US$32 per flight segment.
