Air China has recently launched the prepaid excess baggage fee service on direct flights between Beijing and North America. This service commenced from July 17, 2014.
The airline has become the first Chinese airline to launch such a service on flights to San Francisco, Hawaii, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Houston, Washington, and New York from Beijing.
Passengers flying in and out of Beijing can now make advance payment for the extra pieces of luggage they are carrying beyond the permissible limit.. This payment can be done by calling its Members Services Center hotline or through its ticketing offices worldwide. By making their payment in advance passengers can not only make their check-in procedure easy but, can also save money as the airline offers a saving of 50% on the surplus baggage fee, when paid in advance. This means passengers save their time, energy and money all resulting in making their travel more convenient. This service will benefit leisure travelers and students the most.
Travelers planning to take extra baggage should adhere to baggage size and weight specifications. The allowed limit for each baggage is 23 kg and the baggage must not exceed 158 cm in the sum of its length, breadth, and height. Passengers can make advance payment for only two pieces of extra baggage and must make their advance payment 24 hours prior the departure of the flight. The proof of the payment can be shown to the check-in staff for easy checking of the extra baggage.
Air China, the flag carrier of China, endeavors to provide improved route network, products and services to passengers, offering them with added travel choices to choose. This newly launched service is another attempt to provide faster and uninterrupted check-in experience. Air China has also introduced boarding gate standby, baggage through check-in and self-service check-in to simplify the complex formalities of the airport. All this will provide Air China passengers with wonderful travel experience.
