Air France to offer new inflight cocktails in business class

Air France has upped its cocktail ante now and wants to offer its best to its first class and business class customers. The airline has partnered with head bartender of grand dame Ritz Paris palace hotel Colin Field for creating a rotational seasonal drink to be served in its La Premiere (first class) and Business Class cabins.

Air France in a statement said that Field will be designing a new cocktail at an interval of every three month. Moreover, crackerjack cabin staff of Air France will also be trained by him for making cocktails in perfect Ritz style. The beverages would be exclusively created for the airline. This will later on also be displayed on the drinks list of Ritz Paris hotel’s Bar Hemingway as well.

Media reports quoting a spokesperson of Air France said that the first cocktail will be making its debut in July this year. A potent mix of apple juice, Champagne and Calvados has been created by Field for this month. The future offerings would see more focus on French spirits. The forthcoming creations would be with Armagnac and cognac as well. The reports said that the premium customers can look forward to satiating their palate with exquisite Boulund-produced fare, which includes Provencal lamb chops with cheese polenta, tomato and zucchini pesto, and foie gras en gelée with tardivo and rhubarb.

It may be known that Air France had taken the inflight meals and beverages offerings to an entirely new level since 2009. The airline had partnered with globally acclaimed sommeliers and chefs in the past, and took them to distant lands. Daniel Boulud is one such highly popular and reliable partner of Air France who has consistently handled the creation of meals for La Premiere and Business Class cabins on all flights departing from the United States for Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. Boulud owns many restaurants and proud claimant of several Michelin stars. Apart from Daniel Boulud, Air France has also hired the services of another top chef from France for handling menus on flights to U.S. every few months.
