Air India launches ‘Order to Chef’ service for business class

Air India recently launched its ‘Order to Chef’ service for first class and business class passengers taking flights out of Delhi to select international destinations. The new service is aimed at pampering the premium customers with a personalized touch for the selection and ordering of menu.

India’s national carrier has set up a dedicated ‘Order to Chef’ cell in New Delhi. Through this dedicated cell, the premium fliers are reached out by the airline’s staff prior to departure and meal preferences are sought from the existing menus. The meal is then ordered in advance after the desired choice of meal is made. According to the spokesperson of the airline the new service has received positive feedback and welcomed by the customers.

The dedicated ‘Order to Chef’ service is presently available on daily Delhi-New York JFK and Delhi-Chicago routes, and also three daily Delhi-London Heathrow flights. Air India has also indicated that it will be extending the newly introduced service to other international destinations in future.

The premium customers traveling on the Delhi-New York JFK and Delhi-Chicago routes are offered two major meals and one high tea by the airline. However, the travelers on the Delhi-London Heathrow route are served one major meal and snacks. The in-flight menu comprises of an exciting assortment of Indian cuisines and a wide range of seafood and continental recipes.

Meanwhile, in another development Air India launched its new nonstop flights to San Francisco from Hyderabad on December 2, 2015. The new route will be served with thrice weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The flights are being operated with the help of a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
